Our trip to visit Great Grandma and Papa

Over father’s day we went to Illinois to visit Taylor’s great grandma and grandpa Lynch.  She had a great time meeting them and playing at their house.  We also got a chance to visit Jane’s side of the family…they had a huge get together in our honor and what a fun time!  Jane’s brother has a farm with horses and Taylor got to ride three different ones by the time the day was over.  She is STILL talking about it.  She also had a great time playing with the other little girls that are her distant, distant cousins!

While the trip was pretty whirlwind, the small towns that Jane and Mike are from were a great reminder of how nice it can be to slow down and enjoy the little things….watching the kids play and discover, enjoying some good company, and sitting back and drinking some beer!

We were grateful to have the experience to spend some time with their side of the family and create some memories.

Happy Birthday, Taylor!!

Well its hard to believe we were celebrating Taylor’s 3rd birthday this past weekend, but it is official–we have a precocious little 3 year old that converses on almost any subject–even politics, recalls vivid details from our outings that I seem to forget, and can even ride her bike with training wheels (just this week!).  I hate to be cliche, but how did this happen?  Where did the time go?  And more importantly, who taught her all this stuff?  She’s not even graduating yet and I’m thinking back to the first days we brought her home.  Well, lets not go down that road just yet.

Anyway, we had a great little Wiggly party at our house with some good friends.  I think everyone had a great time!  Taylor was a little overwhelmed at first, but once she had some cake, she was rearing to go!  All in all it was a great way to usher in her 3rd year!  Everyone was so generous with their gifts, and Taylor spent her actual birthday (the party was on Saturday and her birthday was Sunday) opening presents and playing all day.  It was fun!!

IN OTHER NEWS!!!!  Taylor has an announcement about big things to come in her 3rd year:
